Habitat for Humanity offers many different opportunities for volunteers to get involved.  HYP encourages all levels of participation from its members. Currently, HYP offers monthly build days at Habitat job sites and occasional volunteer days at the Home Improvement Outlet.  Sign up for the HYP newsletter through our contact form for the upcoming build days.

Other volunteer oppertunities include:

• Being an orientation trainer
• Being a land maintenance engineer (a monthly commitment)
• Joining Family Services
• Joining the Family Selection Committee
• Being a part of fundraising - annual benefit breakfast or Build-a-thon
• Working at the home show/event booth
• Working with college/youth habitat chapters
• Joining the Speaker's Bureau
• Joining the Green Team

For those who are interested in taking a leadership role, HYP offers a variety of committee positions:

The Steering Committee is responsible for guiding HYP to ensure its and Habitat’s missions are adhered to. It will be generally responsible for creating and executing annual business plans, coordinating the group’s activities, interfacing with Habitat Staff, and enforcing the guidelines for membership and governance.

The Social Committee’s main responsibility will be planning HYP happy hours and fundraisers. However, that is not the limit; HYP is open to expanding their types of activities. So bring your ideas for fundraisers and social events to the committee and work to realize your vision!

The Marketing Committee will work on creating flyers, advertising events, and finding opportunities to reach other young professionals.  If you are a writer, contribute to our newsletter. Tech savvy? Help maintain the HYP website. Artistic? Whip us up some flyers. Love taking pictures? HYP needs a photographer at our events. The Marketing Committee is looking for all types of talents.
